Inhabitants of the Iwili community in Umogidi Ward and Entekpa community all in Adoka Area of Otukpo Neighborhood Government Zone, LGA, of Benue state have fled the community taking after attack of the community by outfitted men.

A source within the region said that the assaults cleared out a few people harmed whereas the influenced towns have been forsaken by the local people who fled for fear of being slaughtered.

Agreeing to him, the outfitted herders at first raged the towns Saturday evening from Agatu LGA and were stood up to by the adolescents of the communities.

He said, “They came from Agatu which they have been assaulting since the starting of the year. They came through Upaha in Apa LGA and gotten to Iwili community in Umuogidi from where they moreover raged Entekpa.

“After being stood up to by the adolescents of the communities, they withdrawn and afterward remobilised and staged a comeback within the evening amid which they sacked the community and slaughtered over 10 people whereas a few others maintained wounds.

“As we talk the carcasses of those slaughtered have not been recovered since the equipped herders have possessed the towns.

“Though the young people of the community are attempting to put up a resistance but they are crippled since they are equipped with dane weapons but the herders are carrying modern weapons.

“We assembled that security work force have been sent to the communities but the adolescents have pledged that Adoka will not drop into the hands of Fulani herders. There’s mounting pressure in Adoka and Otukpo as we speak.”
