Governor Fubara Aims to Improve Healthcare in Rivers State
Improving Healthcare Infrastructure
Governor Siminalayi Fubara is determined to make Rivers State the top spot for medical tourism in Nigeria and Africa. He is focusing on enhancing healthcare facilities and services, especially at the primary level, to connect primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare services in the state.
Upgrading Primary Healthcare Facilities
Fubara is working on reconstructing, rehabilitating, and upgrading all primary healthcare centers in the state. This will help provide quality healthcare services to the majority of the people and integrate them with secondary and tertiary institutions.
Enhancing Rivers State University Teaching Hospital
The capacity of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) is being improved with personnel training and the establishment of critical units equipped with modern equipment to offer top-notch services to patients.
Challenges and Promises
Despite the progress, Governor Fubara acknowledges challenges like inadequate manpower, corruption, indiscipline, and ineffective management in the healthcare system. He has promised to address these issues and complete all ongoing healthcare infrastructure projects in the state.
